Diane Walsh is a certified English-French translator based in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. The Custodians is her debut novel.
The idea began with a question she couldn’t stop asking: what if an ancient civilization had looked forward across forty thousand years and decided that the people who came after them deserved to survive? What would that look like? What would it cost? And who, specifically, would the system choose?
The answer turned out to be seven people on four continents, a Scottish moor in October, and thirteen very tense minutes.
When she is not writing fiction, Diane works as a translator between English and French. She lives in Cape Breton with her husband Gary.
The Custodians is the first investigation in The UOBI Series.
